Somalia

In Somalia our work is carried out along the line of Mogadishu, Bosaso, Kismayo, Baidoa, Balcad and Wanlaweyn. Activities in the country are planned and implemented together with our field partner, Horn Relief Somalia.

The principal area of work is water wells. Alongside the drilling of new wells, the maintenance and repair of wells opened earlier is pursued as a separate undertaking; a dedicated project for spare parts and maintenance is being carried out in Bosaso. Keeping wells in working order is regarded as no less important than opening them.

Alongside the water work, the construction of a primary school in Mogadishu, food parcel distribution and health support projects are under way. The orphans under sponsorship in the country are followed regularly.
